Dodgers Ready for First Pitch

The ninth season for the Oklahoma City Dodgers begins March 31 against the Tacoma Rainiers. This season is a special one for Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark as it is the 25th anniversary of the ballpark. The organization is elated as the new season and milestone approach.

“Everyone has been very busy,” said Alex Freedman, director of communication and broadcasting for the OKC Dodgers. “There’s been plenty of anxiety within the office, but everyone is truly excited. This year has the potential to be a very great season.”

The Sacramento River Cats will visit the OKC Dodgers April 29. The Dodgers will be unveiling a commemorative city-themed jersey and special ball caps. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive the ball cap for free.

There will be plenty of fun to be had during this season as the team has several different “themed” nights. The highlights include Marvel’s Defenders of the Diamond Night, Oklahoma City 89ers Nights and Bark in the Park.

On April 15, the Dodgers will face the Sugar Land Space Cowboys for Marvel’s Defenders of the Diamond. The Dodgers will be sporting exclusive Marvel-themed jerseys and caps. Captain America and Captain Marvel will also be making special appearances throughout the game.

Oklahoma City 89ers Nights will be May 19 and June 17. The team will unveil exclusive, retro 89ers jerseys and caps. They will also be giving away fanny packs to the first 1,000 fans at the June 17 game.

Bark in the Park will be May 16. The ballpark will welcome fans and their dogs to the stadium. Special ticket packages will contain tickets for fans and their dogs as well as a special Dodger-themed neck bandana. Water stations will be available for dogs of all shapes and sizes throughout the ballpark. This event will also be on $2 Tuesday when fans can purchase select beers, sodas and bottled water for $2 each.

There is plenty of buzz surrounding the OKC Dodgers’ ninth season. The team put in an impressive campaign in 2022. Team employees and fans are gearing up for a very exciting season of Oklahoma City Dodgers baseball.
